Azure Technical Consultant

Role Description:

Our client is looking for a Technical Consultant (TC) to help design & deliver Microsoft Azure Cloud projects for one of its key clients. 

The individual assuming this role will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on the Implementation and delivery of Microsoft Azure projects. They will be a customer-facing member of the professional services team, reporting to Project Managers (PM) and other key stakeholders. The Azure professional will be responsible for designing, documenting, building, testing, and supporting the transition of solutions into BAU support.

This role will have a heavy involvement in design and other technical documentation. The candidate must have experience writing and reviewing project documents such as High-Level Design, Configuration and Operational guides.

Our client is a consultancy delivering solutions on behalf of clients and the candidate should have experience working in customer-facing roles. They should ideally have had exposure to the commercial cycle and been involved in the production and review of SoWs and related documents.

 

Key Skills and Abilities: 

• Microsoft Azure and its relevant build, deployment, automation, networking and security technologies in cloud and hybrid environments.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Identity and Access Management products such as Azure AD, B2B, B2C, Azure AD Connect, Conditional Access, PIM, Azure AD Application Proxy, SAML, OAuth and Windows Server Active Directory Domain Services.

• Expertise in Azure B2B & Azure B2C solution delivery.

• Experienced in the design and delivery of enterprise-level Highly Available solutions.

• Expertise in PowerShell, Source Code Control, ARM templates, BICEP & .NET deployment automation.

• Proficient in deploying Azure solutions as code and the primary build method. 

• Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps and YAML pipelines.

• Experience of enterprise solution shaping and Microsoft Azure Cloud deployment architecture development including excellent documentation skills.

• Experience working in an Agile team

• Good knowledge of Azure security and governance including

o Azure Policy

o Azure Defender for Cloud 

o Regulatory compliance standards

o Cloud Adoption Framework

o Enterprise Scale Architecture Landing Zones

• Good knowledge of deploying and managing the following Azure resources in line with NIST 800 53 compliance standards.

o IaaS VMs

o Networking

o Application Gateway with WAF capability. 

o API Manager

o Cosmos DB

o Private Endpoints & Private Link

o Key Vault

o App Service

o Azure SQL

o Azure Functions

o Logic Apps

• Ability to gain an understanding of customer process and issues, and communicate them back 

• Experience working individually and with large teams on projects and both internal and customer teams to facilitate project work 

• Proven perfection in communicating and presenting complex information to technical and non-technical partners and customers, both verbally and in written form 

• Excellent written and spoken communication skills

• Ability to create technical documentation such as:

o High Level and Low-level Designs

o Test Plans

o Configuration documents and technical guides

o Operational documentation

• Ability to present technical solution and technical changes to key stakeholders

o Walkthrough Solution designs

o Create technical RFC and present to the change board for approval

• Escalation Point of contact for Project Support
