Project Manager

Rate: Circa £550/day

 

The Role:

A Project Management Office (PMO) Consultant is required to provide project support to a number of customer projects that require UK security clearance. The PMO Consultant will support project managers with a range of administrative activities, maintaining documentation and governance tools, contract and financial records. 

Success will ultimately be measured on maintaining healthy delivery excellence KPI (timely status check-ins and ensuring no overdue risks, issues or findings), accurate financial forecasting and contract compliance. 

 

Responsibilities / Experience Required:

The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be well organised, proactive and be willing to take initiative. 

Some of the weekly activities include:

• Updating internal and customer status reports and submitting on time.

• Maintaining status of risk and issue logs ensuring that they do not become overdue

• Creating financial forecasts, inputting these into financial management tools and investigating issues and discrepancies.

• Creating and processing simple contract amendments.

• Familiarity with Azure DevOps is a plus as there will be a need to maintain risks, issues and dependencies.

• Ability to create draft status reports to support program and project managers. 

Mandatory Skills

• Ensure adherence to cost, schedule, and scope constraints, while focusing on the customer satisfaction

• Identify risks before they occur; develop and communicate relevant mitigation and avoidance strategies

• Excellent oral and written communication, both with external and internal stakeholders 

 

Desirable Skills

• Skills in Azure DevOps or equivalent, and Microsoft Project 

• Create and maintain accurate forecast of cost/hours and ensure projects complete within approved budget 

• Maintain delivery excellence by submitting weekly internal status reports

• Create, execute and maintain go-green plans for projects, with strong attention to details

• Travel to customer sites might be required (up to 25-50% travel expectations)
