Quality Assurance Business Partner (Operations)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality professional working within Babcock Mission Systems.

You will work across our operation, working alongside business colleagues to ensure operational control, identify and lead improvement and provide strong Quality governance by acting as a customer advocate and through independent diligence.
 
The difference our new Quality Business Partner will make
To actively support the Quality transition journey in Babcock Mission Systems by ensuring management system control and improvement, root cause resolution achieved through the application of best-in-class Quality tools and guiding a strong customer-oriented Quality culture.
 
You will lead the full scope of Quality operational activity across the Mission Systems value stream and achieve Quality objectives by: 
•    Leading the development of all certified and mandated Quality Management Systems and approvals.
•    Ensuring compliance, best performance and improvement of business systems and processes.
•    Improving Quality performance by coordinating improvement initiatives and leading root cause resolution.
•    Acting as a key customer advocate through collaborative relations.
•    Ensuring a high Quality profile and engagement and the application of robust Quality methods.
•    Working closely with the Head of Quality to develop and support Quality strategy, acting as deputy and a thought leader.
 
Who we’re looking for
This exciting opportunity will suit someone who is a dynamic, diligent and tenacious team player who has a background and interest in the improvement of quality in an organisation.
The role requires someone with leadership characteristics, comfortable communicating with members of senior management teams, providing clear and concise information and responding in an appropriate manner. 
This would be ideal for an existing experienced quality professional in a similar role or someone looking to step up and take on this responsibility.
 
Experience
•    A proficient quality assurance manager with considerable practical, hands-on experience in a related industry and be familiar with how quality applies throughout a product or service delivery lifecycle.
•    Experience of implementing quality improvements and encouraging culture change within an organisation.
•    Experience of managing a range of certified quality systems.
•    An excellent working knowledge of continuous improvement methods, tools and problem solving techniques, and be able to provide guidance to others in their application.
 
Skills and attributes
•    Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret technical documentation.
•    Self-motivated, and can work within a group or individually.
•    Ability to understand engineering drawings, procedures and specifications of all disciplines.
•    Have a flexible approach to workload.
•    Computer literate with an understanding of MS Office and ERP applications.
•    Good time management skills.

 

Education and qualifications
•    ONC, HNC or NVQ Level 3 qualification in a quality, science or engineering discipline.
•    Membership of a recognised quality institute e.g. CQI would be desirable.
•    Certified lead auditor.
