From Office to Open Road: The London to Brighton Ride
At the finishing line

On Sunday 15th June 2025, the biggest cycling event in Europe took place: the British Heart Foundation London to Brighton Bike Ride.

Around 14,000 cyclists take part in this 54-mile incredible bike ride. Organised by the British Heart Foundation, the ride is a fundraiser to support their work.

This year Infoserv’s Krystal took part with her partner Aaron. As part of Infoserv’s Corporate Social Responsibility approach, Krystal received an incredible £500 donation celebrating her hard work and great effort.

Krystal could not wait to share her bike diary with us.

Krystal’s Bike Diary

At 3.30 am my alarm goes off; it is finally here, the London to Brighton charity bike ride! The hours of training, cycling in the rain, and endless hill climbs have all been for this. With one massive yawn, I get out of bed and put on the British Heart Foundation (BHF) cycling jersey. The jersey is presented to anyone who has hit their sponsorship target- thank you Infoserv for helping me reach mine. After some final preparations and triple checks to make sure we have everything. We are ready.

The buzz and excitement at the starting line is contagious! 17,000 people will be completing the journey. Looking around, there are people of all fitness abilities, cycling experience, and attire. We could even see a unicorn and the mayor of London.

The atmosphere means my nerves bubble into excitement as I walk my bike to the start line at Clapham Common. My partner, who is also taking part, has a giddy look on his face making my heart swell.

The route begins by taking us through London. It feels as though every cyclist in Britain is here!

Crowds cheer us on, making us feel as though we are taking part in the renowned Tour de France.

The miles through London fly by and before we know it, we are at the first checkpoint. Feeling energised still, we opt to miss this one and continue. The next 20 miles are full of steep climbs and equally steep descends- where we reach a maximum speed of 62km/h! The crowds and fellow participants are cheering everyone on- complimenting each other’s bikes and passing the time with chit-chat.

With only 15km to go to Brighton we reached the dreaded Ditchling Beacon, the part of the journey every rider dreads.

Looking at each other, Aaron and I nod, motivating one another with “We got this”. We start our ascent. We passed riders on the side of the road, who had been beaten by the hill. Determined to keep going they decide to push their bikes.

8 minutes later, after Digging deeper than I have on a bike, I reach the top. The view- wow. The perspective from the top has made every second worthwhile.  Pausing for a few minutes we appreciate the sight and take some photos.

Now the descent. Before we realise we are approaching the finish line. Thousands of people line the roads clapping, and cheering. The celebrations could be heard for miles. As we cross the line and receive our medals, I am euphoric.

Although the ride and preparations have challenged me in every way possible, the sense of elation and joint achievement will ensure I remember this forever.

I cannot thank everyone at Infoserv enough for their words of encourage and support throughout the entire journey and the company’s incredible donation. The British Heart Foundation is a charity very close to my heart and it is incredible to work for such a generous company. The donations will help fund groundbreaking medical research and patient support.

The Infoserv approach to Corporate Social Responsibility begins with our people.

At Infoserv, our sense of community goes far beyond day-to-day meetings and online chats — it’s a core part of who we are. We believe that a supportive workplace is one where every team member feels valued not just for their contributions, but also for who they are as individuals. That’s why we take great pride in supporting each of our teams, both professionally and personally, and actively encourage initiatives that reflect their passions and interests.

This commitment extends into the wider world as well. We support several local charities, community programs, and social initiatives, guided by the belief that business has the power — and responsibility — to make a positive difference. Whether it’s through volunteering, fundraising, or direct partnerships with charitable organisations, we’re dedicated to creating a lasting impact that reaches beyond our office walls.

At Infoserv, we strive to uplift our team members, strengthen the communities they care about, and contribute to a better, more inclusive future.
