This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key HR leadership role at Lockheed Martin – a global powerhouse in aerospace and defence. As the company undergoes a significant transformation within its UK HR function, we’re looking for a confident, experienced HR Manager to help drive that change and deliver meaningful impact across our organisation.
Reporting directly to the Head of HR UK, you’ll serve as the primary HR Business Partner for one or more Business Areas or Functions. This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, making it ideal for someone who thrives on variety, challenge, and collaboration. You’ll be a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping shape and implement people strategies that support business priorities, improve performance, and foster a high-performing, inclusive culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
As a key member of the UK HR Business Partner team, you’ll lead and coordinate a wide range of HR activities, from workforce planning and organisational development to employee relations and performance management. You’ll attend leadership meetings and be part of strategic discussions, ensuring HR has a seat at the table and a voice in decision-making.
You’ll also manage and develop a dedicated HR team, providing day-to-day leadership, coaching, and performance support. Acting as an escalation point for complex employee relations cases, you’ll offer expert advice in line with UK employment law and internal policy. Working closely with our Centres of Expertise, you’ll support the delivery of talent, compensation, and development programmes that enhance employee experience and drive results.
In addition to business-as-usual responsibilities, you’ll play a key role in wider HR initiatives and UK-wide transformation projects. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute at both operational and strategic levels – shaping not just how we work today, but how we evolve for the future.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to be a skilled HR professional with a strong generalist background and demonstrable leadership experience. You should be comfortable navigating a matrixed, fast-paced environment, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels of the business. We are looking for someone with:

A degree in HR, Business, or a related field (CIPD Level 7 preferred).

Significant experience in HR management, ideally in complex, high-tech or engineering environments.

Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and best practices.

Experience leading and developing HR teams.

Proven ability to deliver strategic people initiatives and manage change.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

A proactive, delivery-focused mindset with strong organisational skills.

High level of IT literacy, including HR systems and Microsoft Office.

Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).
